Laceby Karate Club was formed in 1989 by Dave Thompson 3rd Dan, who recognized his need to practice traditional Shotokan karate but also to encompass modern training techniques to produce a more dynamic and powerful karate. He found this in the Federation of Shotokan Karate which is led by Shihan Aidan Trimble 7th Dan former British, European and World Champion. Dave started the club from humble beginnings and through his dedication and calling upon his vast experience of karate gained over many years of training, has developed Laceby Karate Club in to being one of the major clubs in the FSK. The standard of the club over the past few years has been reflected in the number of members of the British Karate team the club has produced.
